recoil performance group at the Curanta festival

On 9 August the online program of the international festival presents the slot from as I collapse, online live installation 2020

as I collapse is about the cognition and sensitivity between living beings explored through the element of water. Casper Koeller from Sceneblog.dk describes the installation as a «…piece, that without compromises, insists on the connection between all living beings, in a way to self-absorbed and smug world».

On 9 August the Curanta festival will be shown from 18:00 to 22:00 on Teledom TV channel and from 10:00 on Sankt-Peterburg TV channel’s web site, as well as on culture.ru and allfest.ru, and the festival’s pages in SoMe.

The Curanta International Festival, which was held for the first time in 2018, presents non-governmental theater groups and studios, combining in their performances different elements of the physical theater and multimedia. This year the online program includes the performances by the previous festivals’ winners from Russia and by new participants, theaters from the USA, Denmark, Spain, Azerbaijan, and Israel. It also features the Galas from 2018 and 2019.

recoil is a Copenhagen-based performance group, founded in 2005 and led by choreographer Tina Tarpgaard. The group works with choreography and performances that cut across established aesthetic categories. Kinaesthetic interaction with the scenographic elements in which the choreography it set, has been a consistent focus of Tarpgaard’s work.
