Meet our new trainee!

My name is Peter Hessellund Jeppesen. I am 25 years old and study Russian language at the University of Copenhagen.

People often ask me in wonder how I came to choose this particular subject, and the answer is always as difficult to give. I think reading classic Russian literature laid the foundation for my later obsession with all things Russian, though I feel there has always been something unfathomable drawing me towards the country.

Here at the Danish Cultural Institute in St. Petersburg my wish is to strengthen the cultural ties between Russia and Denmark. In politically challenging times, culture is an important aspect in maintaining a common ground. I find the differences between Russian and Danish culture very interesting and I believe we can learn much from one another.
