New Democracy Fund

In response to democratic challenges in the Eastern Neighbourhood Countries, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Denmark established in 2020 The New Democracy Fund.

 

The fund supports new and existing civil society partnerships in regard to strengthening democratic development in the Eastern Neighbourhood Countries.

 

The fund is built on dialogue, co-operation, and aims to create new and strengthen the existing relations between civil society organisations in the Eastern Neighbourhood Countries and Denmark.

The Consortium

The New Democracy Fund is supported by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Denmark’s Eastern Neighbourhood Programme. After a call for proposals in the autumn of 2020, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Denmark chose the consortium behind The Fund, which counts the following organisations:

 

The budget

With a total budget of 50 million DKK for 2020-2022. The Fund aims to strengthen new interregional co-operation and exchange of experience between civil society organisations, cultural, educational and knowledge institutions in Denmark and the Eastern Neighbourhood Countries Belarus, Ukraine, Georgia, Moldova, Armenia, and Azerbaijan.
